A great place to raise your family!

St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department
St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department has 24 members and will be bringing on two new members which are starting fire training in January.   All of the fire fighters at St. Libory have gone through a full year of fire fighting school and are certified by the state of Illinois.   St. Libory Fire Department also has nine "First Responders" for medical assist emergencies.

We recently passed a bond issue for $775,000 for the construction of a firehouse. Our fire district purchased a former residence and surrounding property on RT 15 and plans are in order to remodel and convert the residence into district offices, meeting, and training areas. Large apparatus bays and restrooms will be constructed in the new addition to the former residence. There will be 3 drive-thru bays and one short bay to house all of the  fire department equipment.
